Frankfort Transit operates the public bus transportation service within the city limits of Frankfort. The Frankfort Transit System provides three deviated-fixed routes covering all major shopping centers and most state office buildings. The buses run from 6:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The fares are as follows: 50 cents for passengers with the age of 13 and up, free for 12-year old children and under, senior citizens - 25 cents each way and with transfers free.
Due to the fact that there is no Amtrak service to Frankfort, most visitors prefer to drive to the city.
